Attracting deer

Hey I hunt a small piece of land that is mostly field with thorns and weeds growing in it. I don't see many deer here and the ones I do see are does. There is a deer camp not far from where I hunt could that be the problem. How could I attract more deer to where I hunt. Thanks for the help. I live in Arkansas

RE: Attracting deer

If you have permission, plan on making a food plot. Lay out the area you want to plant (1 1/2 or 2 acres) and do a soil sample now. When you get the results apply lime as needed and disc it in. Then figure out what you are going to plant and go to it. You should be able to have a summer plot and then next fall plant a cereal grain plot for your hunting season. If you have does and keep them in your area soon you will have bucks especially during the rut.
