stand all day
I know this has probably been brought up before in here but...I love to hunt, I love the outdoors, I love the cold and I love deer. But I cannot sit up in my stand or on the ground for more than 3 ½ hours. I have tried everything. I know you can stalk deer and do other types of hunting but I like to stand hunt just to be able to watch the animal do its thing and not a have clue in the world I am there is an awesome feeling for me. Anyway does anybody have any good tips to help me stay in my stand longer, and keep me alert longer. Any help would be appreciated.

I take photos or vidio, write down thoughts at the time, keep as quiet as I can, move when the wind blows if possible.

if you can't stay in your stand because of boredom, then, like they said, take a book with you... heck, take a portable cd player with good earphones..... don't be afraid to take a nap... I snooze in a deer blind fairly frequently.... course, I don't get very many deer, either... think there might be a connection?.... naaaah....

Bucky,
Don't forget, you can move around. Carfully. I tend to start getting ansy, when I am uncomfortable, so I will get in just about every position possible in my stand. I do take my stand up pretty hight to help avoid deer seeing my movement. I also take my hunting time to reflect on many things, family, business, praying... most every thing. Also, I take special note of what I heard, saw as well as the wind, temp. so on and so forth. And yes at times a good nap! there's nothing like drifting off 35 foot in a tree with that cool air around you the dawn sun hitting your face and those crazy crows, cawing. Man, for me this make for a great snooze Or just to reflect on life. Hope you find your answer. I had a pretty good friend years ago in school down in Alabama named Bucky, your the first person that I have noticed that has this name. Happy hunting!
