Anyone use Deer Cane? If so, what do you think of it? Does it work? And, how did you use it (i.e. set up/location)? Thanks for any opinions.

Uncle matt if you'll go back and do a little searching you'll find a fine recipe for some homemade cane!! and you won't get busted for making and having it.
Cheaper than the made up kind.

I tryed it two years ago, both the block and mix, and dont know if it was the area or what but the deer did not touch it. For what its worth.

Tryed a search on this but did not find any post. Do you know what the topic was? I tryed deer cane, Deer cocaine, cocaine but nothing came up on homemade.

It's just another thing to get your money I know a couple of hunter's who used that and they both said deer came in but not once touched that stuff the best stuff to use is natural a good group of oak's or edge's of field's guarntee to see deer and you dont have to worry if it's legal unless your trespassing

I've watched deer walk right by it in two locations. Never even stopped to sniff. Save your money.

Yes save your money. Have never had any deer touch it.
There is a thread on here for a mineral lick by "horntagger".
That is some good stuff.

DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY! I bought the stuff and put it out in front of my house where the deer always come to eat the corn i put out there and theve never touched it but if you want to know how to use it
1.clear an area 4ft by 4ft
2.aply in a light coat
3.get pond or creek water on it [DONT USE THE WATER THAT WE DRINK]
4.LEAVE IT ALONE AS MUTCH AS POSSIBLE

Who i have seen it on this forum. you just have to manually go through the posts. the search they have only goes back for 30 days. i think it has been on the qdm forum.
I know it uses dicalcium phosphate, trace mineral salts, and dairy salt. you can add arm and hammer to also. i have heard of people adding jello to it .

Bought abag of the commercial stuff and like the others above had tracks go right by and not even rustle the leaves. Save your money the advertisers are playing with the addicion hype from millions of cocaine articles we have READ ONE SHOT ONE KILL STRIPER PHIL!!

Ive tried it no luck yet but a coyote took the molases lick right off the tree, I found a piece with hair in it....

I dont like the stuff i dont think it works. I tried it for two years now and the deer will go up to it and smell it bu tthey dont not go crazy over it like it says they will.
