Virginia is a great state. I like Williamsburg, Mt. Vernon, Monticello, etc...

Nice deer pics.

Nice bucks Taz. They are as good as anyplace in the country that you dont have to pay to hunt.

Nice looking deer Taz.

Speaking of VA deer, have you gotten anything this year?

****I'd rather be a fence post in Texas than a corn boy in Ohio****

crowpecker I was thinking of you when I made this post! I have seen you mention deer hunting in Va. a number of times, and figured I would let the folks see a few.

Johnny I got my first bowkill this year, a doe. I have to admit that until doe season opens on the 23rd I have not felt the drive as much during gun, there is this one monsterous 6 point(no browtines)that I have been trying to get and as a result I am trying to keep the pressure down on him as much as possible, smart old boy, his bedding area is impossible to get near without his knowledge and from what I have seen so far he sticks to it until it is dark and returns before sunup. I really feel my only chance at him will be if something bumps him out of his bed my way, I do know his escape route out of there and when I hunt the area that is always covered.

BTW those a far from the biggest in Va.

knelson131 I know there are a lot of states with bigger deer, but they don't have the numbers of big ones Va. does. The biggest body size I have ever seen my cousin kill in 75, it field dresses at 210 pounds, the biggest I have ever killed dressed at 175 pounds. When you get into the mountains the deer are quite a bit smaller, when you get into the flatlands where there is a lot of soya beans and corn you start seeing the big bodied deer.
