Looking for any info or stories available on Anticosti. I am considering booking a hunt for this year , probably in Oct. Thanks

Welcome to the board,I never been there,but know some one that has been there. Lots of deer,no real wall hangers like Are big buck states have.Very thick brush and rains alot.

I have an aquaintance that has been to Anticosti many, many times.He doesn't go anymore.He doesn't go anymore because aparently you have to pay to take this out, and you have to leave this and that behind, and you have to pay more if you want to do this and that.I dont have exact details because he told me about this a few years ago and I have forgotten.I can find out for you, but the jist of it was that it was now ridiculous and much too expensive.
CD you are right, not record book deer there, but you can take a few out.

I went in 1999. We went early (mid September) which I wouldn't do again. We saw 15 - 20 deer per day. Nice bucks, but not really big. My 8 point was the largest in camp and scored about 105". The dressed weight of the bucks taken in Sept was between 120 and 135 pounds.
