traded my 710
2 years ago i bought a 710 in 270. I've been happy with the gun as far as its accuracy but have become weary of its durability mostly from what i've read here. nothing had gone wrong with it up until now. Went back to the place I bought it (pawn shop) and traded it in for a 700 ADL in 7mm mag. Maple stock in excellent condition. I gave the 710 + $75. I had originally bought the 710 from them new for $350.
I wasn't looking to change the 270 in for a 7mag but I really liked the gun. Took the 700 to the range and it shoots great. the 7mm hits me a bit harder but not enough to say it's bothersome |

Thanks, I'm looking forward to getting a little more range time in and then be ready for deer season. I have never used a 7mag before but i really do like how the gun feels

RE: traded my 710
Good rifle for sure. I would add though even though I never owned a 710, The were an OK rifle for the average hunter who shoots 3-4 boxes of ammo a year through their gun. I know several guys who have them and have had no problems with them. If you are going to shoot a lot though then the 710 is not the best gun to own.

RE: traded my 710
i will say that the action feels so much more smoothe and solid on the 700

RE: traded my 710
You bet:D

I am a die hard Remmy fan but get a sour stomach about the 710. Hopefully the 770 (710 replacement) turns out a bit better. The 700 ADL in 7 mag is awesome. Have one myself and keep her 1/2 MOA out to 400 yds!

I have the HI-VIZ recoil pad on mine and can shoot all day with out discomfort. http://www.midwayusa.com/eproductpage.exe/showproduct?saleitemid=454745 |
RE: traded my 710
Thas some awesome shooting and i'm sure it takes a lot of work. I have no idea what my new rifle is capable of and i suspect i may never know.
At least for now, i'm only shooting factory ammo and i can only get out to the range a few times a month. So if I can keep it around 1 to 1.5....Yea for me!! |
RE: traded my 710
I had a 7mm Mag. Too much kick for me. Sold it and went with a Remington 700 in 270 win. It's just right. The 7mm is a hard hitter and will drop anything. The ammo is a bit more expensive. Good hunting.
