RE: aiming slingshots
Get a couple of the big Victor Wharf Rat traps. Tack them to the side of a tree about 4 feet above the ground and bait it with a half a pecan.

RE: aiming slingshots
Aim instinctivly, use 50cal. muzzleloader balls as ammo. They make deer hunting slingshots.

RE: aiming slingshots
get yourself some marbles and practice practice practice. the trick to shooting a slingshot is to hold it the same way everytime like a bow or rifle. when you practice hang up an old blanket or big piece of carpet so you can find all your amo. whatever you do is never shoot a shunk and retrieve you marbles. i speak from experience.

Makes a big game hunting slingshot. I think it shoots a long arrow like an atlatl dart and lead balls. If you can pull the dang thing back I'm sure it would kill anything you wanted. Also the old mexican cowboys (can't remember the proper name) used to kill bison with slings shooting big lead balls. The range they claimed to be able to do this at was amazing. Then they finished it off with a big knife. The cherokee indians used to hunt deer with 7' blowguns made out of rivercane. I guess they shot for the neck. RE: aiming slingshots
To me, it's kind of an instinctive thing. Oh, and I've always used glass marbles, not muzzleloader balls. You can accidentally touch hand to face after handling glass marbles without health risks, and a glass marble will do the job on a squirrel......a friend told me that...

RE: aiming slingshots
Sling shot? Dag, I have not thought about that in, less see, about 30, I tellin!
I don't know about the tech stuff now a day. But, gallon milk jugs, lots of rocks(free) kinda simular, and have at it. Pull back and let it rip. Practice will take care of it. Work you way down to a tomato paste can and you're ready. Good luck, Be Careful FirstBow |
