I shot a deer in archery season like that. I checked her bottom jaw with an age chart and according to the chart she was 6 years plus. Maybe it is age??

Trap, in 1987 I shot a four point in northcentral PA with an unusual overbite. It seemed like the lower jaw stopped developing as a fawn. I shot him as he trailed a doe and her fawn. He certainly looked stange. My friend's dad was my high school biology teacher and a deputy game warden. As I recall, he was not all that surprised by it and indicated it was a genetic trait much like piebalds and albinos. I have some pictures of it, but they're the ones that we took after butchering. I don't think they're appropriate for the internet.

trap,
You are either dealing with a healed injury (1% chance) or the deer was born like this (99% chance). I've never heard of any disease, malnutrition, etc causing this.

never saw a deer like that in the south ,so it must be a mid north think LOL.
when I was doing taxidermy work I did get a smallmouth bass to mount that had a very bad underbite. his bottom jaw was 1 3/4" longer than his upper jaw.man was he weird looking.the game biologist said they se them all along. that was my first time, and noone since.

must be just like some people, weird!!!
