Dumb Question....

I am new to bowhunting, and bought some huntingboots I use at the range to walk through mud. After each shoot, I keep them inside my house bythe back door. Are these boots tainted now with scent so bad they will probably be useless in the field come season, or can I spray them down with scent blockers and still use them?

RE: Dumb Question....

Spray them with some scent killer before the hunt, and you should be fine.

I think they will smell you about the same time they might smell the boots. Hunt downwind.

Walk through what a cow left behind (or a horse or even another deer) to cover up the scent on the boot bottoms. Jim

I concur with this.

Also steel almost no such thing as a dumb question especially this one.

Thanks for some great information. I would have never thought of purposely walking through cow crap! [8D]

Some scent killer will do you right.

use the wind to your advantage and don't put too much time into scent killers and eliminators...they are way overated!

Same as what Camo said. Big rip off IMO. Scent control is using the wind not buying an expensivecharcoal suit or boots.

I prefer to use cover scents rather than wasting money on all that scent control clothing and sprays. Waste of money in my opinion. My favorite method of scent control is to put the stuff you'll be wearing in a plastic garbage bag with some dirt, leaves, pine cones, etc. from the area you'll be hunting in about a week before the season, then take them out and get dressed after you get out of your truck on your way intoyour spot.
