ORIGINAL: KoBear

yea, i remember that buck.

deer grow antlers like that when they're testicles are injured. they never shed their velvet and therefore never lose their antlers. they just keep growing them like that.
So you're saying it's the deer equivalent of men driving VW Beetles, watching Desparate Housewives, and wearing tight pants?

ok, after doin some research, it was shot in KY in 2004. the story is here:

http://www.american-hunter.com/monst...ky_fr_buck.htm

and all that black stuff you see? thats dried up velvet.... and notice that the antlers arent all shiny since it didnt have the urge to rub the trees... no testosterone....

Theres something fishy about this buck....Look at the second photo closely, youll see the "image" does not line up. I circled the area in white where it appears to be some sort of alteration. At this, I would concider this to be a fake.

I wonder what it eventually scored. I killed a no-testicle buck several years ago and he had not rubbed any of the velvet off and the antlers didn't look like those. Irregardless, something strange going on.

the deer is a legit deer. do a search of "medusa buck" and you will see that Buckmasters has it as being the #1 whitetail in the world in percentage of non-typical antler (98.1).

http://www.ardeerhunting.com/Monster%20Whitetails.htm

its not a fake.
