RE: How old were you when you started?
Had a BB gun in my hand at 5, can remember I had a funny way of loading it. I would put the end of the barrel on my foot or a rock and with both hands push down on the lever to get it cocked. As time went on it got easier. I started into big game at 16. Still love hunting but Iam very fussy in what I shoot now. Heck squezze the trigger the work begins

I got a really old Daisy BB gun from my uncle when I was around 5 I think. I wasn't allowed to have BB's for it for a couple years, so I took the cap off of the end of the barrel. Took the inner barrel out which allowed the air to be released into the outside barrel that was about the sized of a 12 gauge. I'd take plastic chess pieces or anything small and light and drop them down the barrel. they'd come out pretty good but not accurate after a couple feet. Couldn't hurt anything either. Still fun to shot my older sister with though.

Went out with dad for the first time when I was 8, passed hunter's safety a year later and got my shotgun for X-mas. He made me prove I was safe with squirrel and rabbit hunting with my 1 bullet in the gun (Barney Fife style) before I was allowed to bring my shotgun out and sit with him deer hunting for a year (we didn't see any that year). The following year, I got my own spot in the woods and dropped my first deer, a small doe at age 12 on jy first opening morning.
Got my first bb gun and started plinking around with it at 7.
