I started hunting when the Grandparents bought me my first air rifle when I was six. Our state required that you be 12 years old for your first deer permit. My dad was a work-a-holic and seldom hunted but Uncles and older cousins got me started early. Thios year ,with my broken foot, was the first deer season that I missed in 50 years.

Out in the woods since you were 2? I'm taking a wild guess and saying that at the Age 2 years old you were not out hunting. And if your dad was bringing you into the woods while he was hunting when you were 2 years old something definitely is not right in his head.

I started deer hunting when I was around 8 years old with my dad. Killed my first buck when I was 9, 147 pound 8 ponter and still have the mount. Oh, I'm 58 years old now, so it has been awhile

I've been in the woods since before kindergarden, but we're not allowed to hunt in wisconsin until we're 12, although i remember many times when dad would hand the gun over for a shot on squirrels and rabbits and other small game...he even let me shoot a doe for him when i was 11

Well, my father bought me a J.C. Higgins Mod.51-.30-06 (FN Action)at Sears & Roebuck in 1952 when I turned 13 and took my first Doethat season.
