Is it worth rattling this late in the season in central NY?

Default RE: rattling

Is the rut over? how long ago? I have rattled with some success in very early post rut...but never the same results as pre and full.

I prefer to hunt bedding or food sources in post rut. I only rattle in pre, rut or the immediate days the follow the slow down or prerut,

Answer the above question and maybe others will be able to help more accurately.
