Spotting Scope for whitetail
Hi guys,
Need your help. What kind of spotting scope would you get between a Leupold green ring seq. 20x60x80mm and a bushnell elite compact 20x60x70mm. Are these good spotting scopes? Need these to spot whitetails at long distances and for the range as well. Thanks! Cormier |
RE: Spotting Scope for whitetail
Got my BF a Leupold 15 x 30 x 60 (?) for Xmas.. He loves it. swears by it, loves it, lives it. his father lives about 3/4 mile away; across hay field and we can watch him sitting on his back porch.. Pretty funny

RE: Spotting Scope for whitetail
I use a spotting scope when hunting fieldsand I find that many times Iam using in low light. I would go with the 20x60x80 the bigger the lenses more light it gathers.

RE: Spotting Scope for whitetail
I have the LeupoldSeq. you mention it is decent quality but not spectacular. For my usage the Leupold is fine, which is range and scouting. I find in low light at higher mag it is dim, difficult to field judge whitetails at distance. If its before the sun dips it works just fine. IfI needed a spotter for field judging while hunting I would look at more then these 2 offer, personally. Something that use ED glass.
