i don't know about mock scrapes but some of the best scent you can get is to cut the tarsal gland of a buck somebody go my buddy did this with my and he had deer crawling all over the place

yeah i know what kinda scent that the bucks leave above a scrape....its called pre-orbital scent. however if you're asking because you want to make a mock scrape and use pre-orbital scent on the licking branch above the scrape, i don't believe that anyone has been able to preserve that scent. now if you're asking what scent is put into a scrape dripper above a scrape, all ive ever used is buck urine, or doe estrus urine. tinks 69, buck stop 200 proof, buck stop rutting buck, pretty much any commercial scent will work.

I doubt it would be tarsal gland unless the buck is a gymnast.

lol i just told you the scent comes from a gland on the forehead called the pre-orbital gland, but hasn't been able to be commercialized because it has such a short shelf life. so the best we can do is use whats availible that being, estrus urine, and buck urine. <img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle>

I have used those daytime drippers with &quot;active scrape&quot; loaded in them with good results. Forget who makes the drippers and the &quot;active scrape&quot; scent. I believe it is just a doe or buck pee like the other guys have been saying though.

nodose is right, the branch part would be the pre-orbital gland, but I have never seen it for sale.

By eyes = pre-orbital
In between toes = interdigital
meta tarsal = like just above hoves in back
tarsal = the one that is on inside of hind legs they pee over at scrapes
