If it were legal i'd shoot the doe. Not because i wanna brag that i shot this rare and mysterious doe but to keep the gene from being spread to other deer and limiting their ability to hide from predators.

If I remember things correctly, the shooting of an albino is what caused it to become illegal in Iowa. A hunter who shot an albino deer was "featured" in an article in the Des Moines Register. He stated that he had a trophy buck and the albino in front of him at the same time. His flippant remark was that he could shoot a trophy buck any year, the albino was one in a lifetime. The next legislative session brought about the 50% rule:a hunter can't shoot a deer that is more than 50% white in color.

I feel that this is not based on sound management practices. Careful what you say......

Most albinos are very weak ,that is why they are so rare . They tend to have weak immune systems. So shoot the doe and wait for a bigger buck.

I'd shoot both if possible(albinos are legal here), but if it had to be one or the other I'd take the larger of the two for the higher meat yield.
