RE: Wind effects?

Wind direction is one of the most important factors when picking out your place to hunt. If it isn't right, go to another place. Something I do that sometimes helps when the wind is swirling is that I keep a piece or two of flagging tape around the trail area or plot area. Often the wind at ground level isn't the same as what you ahave in the tree stand. I've never had a lot of luck in high wind conditions.

RE: Wind effects?

A deer's sense of smell is much greater than a humans. If you don't play the wind game, you will be spookin deer you don't even know (they will smell you before they get in range). So as a rule of thumb always hunt with the wind in your face. Two good ways to learn the wind direction is to carry a squeeze bottle with talcum powder in it, or to tie a small thread to your bow or anything else you will have with you all the time. Good luck.
