i would give it once chance. Let her know how you feel about hunting and that it is a big par tof your life. Tell her you will never ask her to go if she doesn't like it. But that your not giving it up. Set that as a ground rule. If she argues you'll probably find another. But like you said she isn't vegitarian. So there may be hope. I am a girl and like to hunt and fish but, I can tell you there are not many of us. Most of my friends think I am crazy!

You can't make someone understand if they don't want to understand.
I've had the same problem. No matter what you say, they still don't see the need to kill a "harmless" animal.

Even if they eat hamburgers and are paying people for killing the cow for them. I worked in a slaughter house for a while, they killed the cows with a sledgehammer. No joke. They run it into a chute and there were two guys ready with the sledgehammers. Then they hook it and drag it out. They legaly can't shoot the cows in the head anymore, it gets expencive with the bullets too. Hunters kill thier game much more humainly. And quickly, and with more respect. But like I said, she probably doesn't want to hear it and you can't make her understand if she doesn't want to.

Don't listen to all these comments. Most girls like that don't believe in hunting cause they don't know anything about it. It's just the way girls are raised nowdays. Mine was like that. If she has a good head on her shoulders, she will learn. Once my girlfriend saw how much I loved and respected the animals I pursued, she became much more receptive to what I had to tell her. Soon, she was riding to the woods with me on scouting missions, and cooking up some fine venison meals! This year she wants to sit in stand with me with hopes of hunting next year! By getting rid of her now, you are missing a great chance to convert a non-hunter into a pro-hunter.

I would have to agree with bionicrooster. When I first met my wife she didn't like hunting at all but over time she doesn't mind at all, till I get obsessed. She also REALLY likes those elk stakes. She still doesn't want to actually kill an animal yet but she does go shooting, fishing, camping with me and has alot of fun. Let her know up front and if she respects you then she'll be ok with it.

Sounds like the start of a relationship that you will be '*****-whipped' in!!!! Lay down the law right up front...my exwife was like that, hence the ex in front of wife...she knew I loved to hunt & fish when I met her & it was pure hell everytime I wanted to do either....when I met my current wife, I laid down the law straight up on our first date...I told her if she was looking to get serious that I hunt & I fish & that I go away each year on weekends & for a week or two to do both & that if she can't handle that then this would be our first & last date...I made it perfectly clear to her, that next to my hunting, fishing & my dog, she would come first....we've been together 10 years now & have a great relationship & yes I still hunt & fish on a regular basis!!!!!!!!! When I first met my wife she was not totally against hunting but said she didn't care for it. Well, she was not raised around it and didn't really know anything about it. I explained to her how important it was to me and that was the way I was raised. She has never slowed me from hunting or fishing but still chooses not to participate. She does realize how important it is to me and my family. She encourages me to take my grandfather hunting and spending time with him in the woods as he did me when I was a kid. So, it really depends on the woman I guess. But some of the best are open minded and very supportive. Besides, when I am in the woods she has a free pass to the mall.

At least your young like me. I keep the girls lined up so if I don't like one I move on. :)
