Depends on the conditions and where I'm hunting. Thick woods, walking guns Rem 7600 35 Whelen and a Winchester 94 307 winchester both with open sights. For the bean, corn, wheat fields, InterarmsMK X 30-06 and Ruger M77 MKII 270 WSM. For Muzzleloader a CVA Wolf 50 cal shooting 130 gr pyrodex and 250 gr SST's or a 50 cal flintlock.

Better enjoy those Walmart deals while you can. The new CEO of Walmart is going to terminate all gun/ammo sales soon. Dont think there will be clearance sales either. They are going to ship all stock back to the manufacturers......Sucks does'nt it![:@]

I feel sorry for all of you that use shotguns for deer. IMO they suck. Much of WI is shotgun only, and I wish it would change. Shotguns are no safer than rifles. I use a model 70 short action carbine in .308. It has a Simmons Whitetail Classic 1.5 X 5 on it. Sweet rig, I love it. I also have a model 336 in 30-30, with a vintage redfield reciever sight, also a sweet rig. I never have a problem deciding which to use ona given day, the decision is just there and I go with it.

i personaly like using a shotgun or a muzzleloader dosnt matter i dont give a crap
