Strut JR's buck pictures{before and after}
Well I finally got time to post a picture or 2. This is the same deer, One of the earlier pictures was taken when he was still in velvet and the other about 2 months ago, He has broken off several points since then. He was originally a 12 point counting the double eye-guards. I have taken him to the taxidermist to see if he can restore the horns to about like they were and he said he thought he could. Looks like Matthew is going to skunk ol'paw again this year. By comparing the bottom photo you can see that some of the broken tines were pretty long.

Tell your son congrats on the buck. Your taxidermist can fix the antlers.
Are the broken tines common on the bucks in your area? Because it just seems weird to see that buck with almost every tine broken in some spot or another. If it is common, you should try feed with more calcium in it. Just an idea!

RE: Strut JR's buck pictures{before and after}
This is Strut Jr., I guess that is what I have been labeled. I am replying to this because my dad is sick and hasn't felt like getting on the computer. Nothing bad just the stomach virus. Anyway, the son(21 yo) out hunted the old man again this year. The bad part of it is I only got to hunt 3 days due to my college classes. And the young one still beat his old dad..LOL. To answer the questions about broken horns being very common, no they are not that common. By other marks on this buck we could tell he has been into many fight. You guys can't see it in the pictures, but this buck had a pretty bad gouge(spelling??) under his left eye. It looked to be pretty old, but just one of the signs he had been into a few fights. Since I am not going to be able to hunt during Missouri's muzzle loading season due again to my college classes hopefully the old man will get the monster this one ran into. Thanks for the congrats and good luck on your seasons. The old man should be back on here in a day or two. Enjoy hunting and the great outdoors.

Well the Ol'Man is back, lets see if he is making all them braggs when it comes to spring turkey season LOL. Really I'm very proud of him and it would have been a good shot {even for me} and I would rather him get a good'n like that than me.
