I'd put him down.

RE: You Call The Shots XI
ORIGINAL: Mountain Cur If that shot is too dangerous, then what are you gonna do wait for him to walk in front of a brick wall:eek:. As far as the shot goes, yeah but I wouldn't be sitting there with a .243. Bang, I'd be aiming for the exit hole! |
RE: You Call The Shots XI
Well "just trees" is part of tons of hunting scenarios. But, if I'm hunting an area I'm gonna know beforehand the lay of the surrounding area anyway, that's just common sense.

RE: You Call The Shots XI
take a breath, squeeze the trigger, give him about 30 minutes and go load him up

RE: You Call The Shots XI
Too small...let him grow.

Not a mature buck. Lethim walk and he will be a dandy next year.

RE: You Call The Shots XI
From a safety standpoint, this shot is marginal. You are shooting up at the animal, with a background of foliated forest. I would take the shot if I had a good rest aim and was confident ofa good hit. The correct shot placement for this situation would be squarely in the shoulder, there should be no exit wound with a 243.

RE: You Call The Shots XI
You can make a 300 yard shot with a .243 I would only shoot 200 yards but that shot is simple.
