whitetail challenge on VS
 

Anyone see the whitetail challenge on VS? Four hunters had three days to hunt the same ranch in Texas, best mature buck would be the winner.All four got deer but really none of them took a shot you usually see on those type ofshows. One shot was just about at dark, another was a straight on chest shot and the other two were both jumped bucks that were shot in tall brush... i really liked the show but not really to impressed with the shot selections. any thoughts?

It was an interesting show. I guess I liked it too. They really took some shots thatI probably wouldn't have, like the strait on chest shot, but I guess if your comfortable taking a shot then take it. Overall good show.

I would suspect money given to the winner.I would be throwing lead all so at any part of the deer.Rifle of choice a semi auto with a 30 rnd clip.We talking money now.Stay the hell out of the woods.

The winner was crowned "best deer hunter in the world" ........ come on!
I think contests such as this should be reserved for things such as darts.

My thoughts exactly, but I still watched it. I think it shows a little disrespect for the deer. I also agree with the worlds greatest hunters, what a joke. Anyone could kill great deer where these guys hunt. I would love to see them come to my place and do the same.

Contest itself was dumb in my opinion... but the hunting itself I thought was a little more realistic that most shows.
I enjoyed the hunting portion. Less "hollywood" than most shows and videos out.

I watched it and I didn't think it was too bad. I didn't have a problem with any of the shots. With the size of the deer they took, it made me feel pretty good about the deer I take.

I didn't see it But - No matter what a hunter(s) might think about the method and shots taken I think its great the hunting community/industry as a whole has come a long way on the Boob Toob.

I'm old enough to remember some of the Anti Hunting specials on net work TV depicting hunters as only hunting fenced animals with graphic impact shots,animals flopping around,bleeding etc...etc...These shows caused a Huge uproar!

We now have our own base for hunters on cable channels showing impact shots,blood trails, AND crazy azz Tred Barta dressing and quartering deer, to knocking a Tuna over the head with a club!

Some say these shows are all about the kill,the trophy,the $money$.You bet it is - everybody is making money from these hunts we see on the Toob.Better it be hunting:D than Anti Hunting[:@]

We have come a long way! If its not down right unethical I say Get R Done!
