Michelle's 06 buck
 

Michelle has hunted hard all year and just hasn't seen a buck she wanted and it was near 75 degrees, so she decided to take the evening off and take our oldest daughter to the movies.Well as fate would have it I was picking up supplies about noon and over heard a man telling another man that he had just seen 3 bucks chasing a doe out on the prairies,then he described the place where he had seen them.A light came on ,he had just described a place I hunt ,I called Michelle and told her we were going to hunt,which place and why.
I was late getting off work and we got there at about 15 till 5pm. Right in the middle of the prairies there is a huge draw chock full of dense brush.I told her I wanted to try and get in a ways if we could. We made lots of noise getting set up right near two nice rubs.We had been there about 30 minutes when I decided it was time to call and rattle.I told Michelle I would call with grunt tube and then rattle while she called on hers that Lemarr Game calls sent her for Christmas.I called then rattled kicking the leaves and thrashing a near by bush,while Michelle called as well, as soon as I stopped I could hear deer running through the brush coming our way! I could tell even through the dense brush that it was a good buck,Michelle got on him quickly ,I grunted and he stopped at about 80 yards ,as soon as she found a whole she squeezed the trigger on my .243,the 100 gr. core lokt found its mark, the buck ran up hill about 30 yards and fell all the way back to the bottom. As the buck came to a rest another buck a 140 class 8 point came running in and stopped in the same spot while we sat and both wished we had 1 more buck tag! Before all had settled down we saw another 140 class 10 point and another big buck chasing a doe,we saw more big bucks in one evening than we had seen all season!
We finally decided to check out Michelle's buck ,she had just killed the second biggest 6 pointer I have ever seen! She was very excited and proud of him!
