That's a light cartridge for that setup and range, IMHO, so I probably wouldn't take it. No confidence equals no shooting.

Too small of a picture to really see anything. It's dark in the background. What's in those dark woods? If I knew for certain it was clear behing him I would take him.

That dog just don't wanna hunt. A .357 would not be enough power at that distance. I should know, I carry a .357 every gun season. I would have to pass.

these questions are so pointless.. who wouldnt shoot at a deer like that from 55 yards.. if you practice at 50 and you're good why would u pass it up..? I would definatly take the shot, I mean you zeroed in at 50 yards and the wind is blowing at your back. Just give a mouth grunt or whistle and wait for him to stop.

In contrary to some beleifs i beleive that a .357 is plenty at 55yds. I have two .357's, a taurus 608 and a marlin lever action with an octagon barrel. i've shot them both a lot in an effort to talk myself into leaving the .25-06 in the case one day. I would darn sure be squeezing the trigger on my rifle but since the question concerns a pistol.. i don't know. My handgun skills are improving but still leave much to be desired.I wouldn't for a doe but i've been known to shoot a lil beyond my liking for a nice buck.Ignorant and maybe even unethical butyeah, short prayer...boom.

If that gun has the power and assuming I had sufficient practice using that gun, I would probably take the shot. Having said that, I wouldn't be out there hunting deer with a pistol. Just not my cup of tea.

No shot because I wouldn't be in that position with a 357. It's a marginal gun at nest for deer and I wouldnt hunt deer with it.
