Congrats to both you and your pal. Pretty neat to have the before and afters on that buck.

Saskman, did you get in on any of the CWD tags rumored for your area? I heard of them being issued for Kyle and to the park, not sure if its is truth or fiction. Just wanted to know?

I shot a similar lft side paddle rack up north a week ago, his right was a perfect five with 25" beams...left was 1" shorter(beam) and had 7 points in total (including a crab claw of the base lt. to the front of his eye) but all palmed out on the left. It ain't the prettiest or biggest buck but by far the most unique I have taken.

Look forward to more pics, as usual!

Congratulations on getting your buck. I think getting an unusual deer is just as good as a big one. I would love to see a photo of it and if you were interested I could post in on Saskatchewan bucks.com. I am always looking for photos for my page.

I haven't got any CWD tags as I have already got 4 deer in the freezer. I was drawn for either sex mule deer and antlerless mule deer and I have most of the meat from my dads mule deer plus I just got a whitetail. There have been tons of hunters around and things are getting a little crazy. People driving over swaths and rutting up fields when it was warm. One lady had people come and ask permission to hunt and she said she could not give it to them as they only rented the land but they hunted any way. Guys have been driving around and around fields that are still standing like they were on a race track. There have been guys hunting in the wrong areas where the tags are not valid and today I turned in two guys for hunting with their rifles in an archery muzzleloader only area and for driving off the trails in an area that is hunting on foot only, no exceptions. These tags have been causeing some major problems in the area. Sorry for the rant but it is getting ridiculous around here. Some people just have no respect.

They are crazy down here in MO too. Saw 2 people tresspassing on the property next to where I hunt, walking, at 830am on opening morning!!! It was still prime time. We have taken nice bucks opening weekend out of that field at 845am! What morons. The next day I had a guy tresspass the same field, from a different direction, at 345pm. Again, prime time! Uuggghhhh. I miss bow season. OH, and the people not tresspassing, but walking up to the property line looking for a doe they think they shot, stomping all over the place, but never found any blood? So do they think they are going to just find the deer by wandering around the woods? These people have every right to be out there, but no sense at all. I probably should have offered to help them find it, they would have had a chance at getting it anyway. besides, I wasn't going to (and didn't) see anything that evening anyway.

Anyway, nice bucks! I do like the palmation. Why doesn't Dale have white on, he stylin or what?

So it's true, the rumors. To bad on the crap though. I heard they were offering guys a CWD tag, bring it back and get another. Which to me is a huge mistake....just promotes excatly what you eluded too. People forget it is a privelage to hunt...NOT A RIGHT. Cudo's on turning the loser in, I did the same up at my cabin up north. Too many slobs around it seems, makes it real hard for the honest group of guys.

Hucklburry

We were hunting in a designated muzzleloader archery zone and therefore were allowed to wear camo. We double checked this with conservation officers last year and were told it was OK. My deer was taken just outside the muzzleloader archery zone (but still taken with a muzzleloasder) so I was wearing white. I had a blaze orange cap over my camo hat when I was outside the archery muzzleloader zone but just took it off for the photo.

I have heard of several guys shooting seven or more deer each with these tags. What I am wondering is what are they doing with all the meat. I think I will be hunting in other areas for a couple of years while these tags are being given out.
