what does a rub line mean?

i know random rubs really dont mean much, other than there was once a buck here, but i found a rub line going in a straight line for 1 mile, on trees the same width, dobucks do this to show a path they commonly travel, and live near?, or does it mean nothing and im getting my hopes up?

bucks also make rub lines to show/claim territory. this would also be a good place for a stand.

The rub line is a travel area in which a buck frequents. My advice is to find one (which you have), hang a stand, and shoot the big old boy.:D

with the amount of rubs you found that sure is not random.. hang that stand and get out. good luck on seeing a big boy when you hunt that area

RE: what does a rub line mean?

Its his territory. But the thing is bucks can have a route in a circle up to 30 miles around. So if they are fresh it could be weeks before he comes back, if they are older rubs he maybe back soon. But then again not all bucks revisit the rubs they made back in early fall!
