The doe I shot dropped in her tracks also. I have a Remington model four and shoot 180grn STBT. Five of the last six deer I have shot with it dropped. The one that didn`t, went 31 feet.

I've shot 6 deer and the furthest went 30 yards. And that one was with a bow.

RE: After the shot...HOW FAR did you track?

Well this year all 3 of my deer dropped on the spot. But the longest i ever tracked a deer i shot was about 300 yards...however i pushed him up not once but twice(learned a little lesson that day).

Longest track I ever had covered well over 1/2 mile on a single lung buck with a 180 gr Corelokt bullet from an 06 my buddies brother shot. It was really the wierdest thing I ever did see, we never pushed him he just ran until he hit a barb wire fence and then died with his rack stuck between 2 strands of wire. This sucker ran up and down ridges...just way to much will to live. Blood trail was poor and spotty...sometimes 30 feet until the next fleck appeared and we had snow on the ground...Bizarre!
