I hunted Wednesday through Saturday morning without success -saw lots of deer but no shooters. I took the wife out with me Sunday for the first time. It was my last opportunity to take a buck this year. With just a few minutes of shooting time left this fella showed up with 4 does. Had to take the running shot about 50 yards away - he didn't go 15 yards and dropped - double lunged him. He was still in rut and has a scar above one eye from recent fighting. I'm pretty sure I got him on camera 2 weeks before season opened.

nice deer. was the blood on the antlers there or was that from you? i saw a deer my friend shot last weekend, and the G2's and 3's were full of blood.

she's always enjoyed going scouting with me, but never had the opportunity to take her hunting until this time. She doesn't like to shoot a gun, but she definately enjoys the hunt. She might take up a bow someday though
