Default Back relief in your stand

Just wanted to pass on something I tried out that worked for me. I suffer from severe back problems and have always had problems staying in my stand for long periods of time. Today I tried out one of those new ThermaCare Heat Wraps and it worked great. It lessened the pain and allowed me not only to stay in my stand longer but also kept me from fidgeting so much. It's not a miracle cure, and I still had pain, but it was a great help. It also does a great job of adding a little heat to your body on those cold mornings waiting for the sun to come up.

Real funny soarkrebel. I feel for you Mass., I too have massive back problems and I fixed it. I have five herniated disc and spinal stenosis (narrowing of my spine) in my lower back plus some bone spurs. I'd been doing the epederal steroid shots for about 3 years. They would help for a while but there not good for you. Before bow season started I collapsed a disc and steroids and cortisone shots didn't help. I was in terrible pain and could barely walk. I figured my hunting season was over. The heating pads had helped before but not after the total disc collapse.
I hope you don't think I'm nuts, but my son told me about a friend of his that had the same problems and he went to see an acupunture guy. In desperation, I asked around my hometown and there just happen to be a guy who was highly recommended in accupunture and accupunture massage. I made an appointment 2 months ago and have made two visits. My back pain is virtually gone. Now, I'm walking a couple miles a day and back to working out which I havn't been able to do in 3 years. I am also sleeping better than I have in a long time. This guy puts the needles in you and also massages your nerve endings. It's the most amazing thing that's ever happened to me as far as pain relief. I still have a little pain when I first get up in the morning but after a short time of moving around it's gone. I'm enjoying my hunting season more than I have in a long time, I ain't killing nothing but I'm having fun.
I've sent 3 other people to this guy in the last two months. 2 of the 3 could not believe the results and how much better they felt. The third guy had mild relieve but is still going. I know this doc didn't fix my back problems but he took away the pain and the inflammation. No more steroid shots for me. From now on I go for the needles and massage. I offer this advice to any back pain sufferer's as a good alternative to surgeries and steroids. good luck to you

I don't think anything is nuts when it comes to a bad back. I'm glad you found that guy and he helped your back. Maybe I'll have to look around and see if we have someone like that around here. I've tried just about everything else.

soarkrebel, you need to send me the floor plans for that bad boy. <img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>
