FIELD DRESSING
 

I WAS WONDERING A FEW THINGS ABOUT FIELD DRESSING. FOR YEARS, OR A LONG AS I COULD REMEMBER, WE NEVER TOUCHED THE ANAL CAVITY.... NOW I AM BEING TOLD THAT NO MATTER WHAT, IT SHOULD BE REMOVED. WHAT DO U GUYS THINK, & IF SO WHAT IS THE BEST METHOD TO DO SO? THANKS

I'm no expert, but I was taught to cut around it, pull it out a ways and tie it off.

Use a hatchet to split the pelvic bone then cut it out. Be carfull though, the pelvic bone is sharp after splitting it.

Yup, but no need to even tie it off. Just cut around it and all the intestines should fall pretty free from the rest of it.

Split the pelvic bone and just cut it out, but don't leave it in.

I might actually buy the Deer e Ere, It looks good in the video but I was too embarrassed to show up at the camp with one.

Cut around the corn hole making about 4" penetration but do not bust the anal canal itself. Once inside you can pull the bladder and anal canal out of the way along with the rest of the entrails.
No need to tie it.

Icore the anus, open up the underside from anus to sternum, cut the throat through the esophagus, cut the membranes holding the guts, split the pelvis, and roll it on over.

I cut around the anus and tie it off with a ty-wrap . When I dump the guts , no crap inside . I don't split the pelvis as not doing so lets less contaminents in the cavity .

my father taught me to cut around the anus first.

i never cut any bones, and i never tied anything
