Crawford County Hunter Becomes The Hunted

(KDKA) MEADVILLE A hunter in Crawford County say a bunch of other hunters confronted him and robbed him of his deer on opening day of deer season.

Forty-two year old of Robert Hanna of Meadville said he was in a tree stand and had just shot a doe when suddenly he was confronted by three men at gunpoint.

"They were right underneath my tree stand," said Hanna. "I don't know where they came from, because where I was at, was thickets, and open woods but, I have no clue where they came from."

They forced him down from the stand and made him discharge the remaining ammunition in his gun.

Hanna describes what happened next: "The next thing I know, I'm standing on the bottom, one guy standing in front of me. The other guy walked behind me. He took his gun and hit me from behind. I went down to the ground and there was a third guy dressed in orange who grabbed the deer I shot…. put it around his shoulders, and started walking down through the woods. It was totally shocking. I never heard anything or experienced like that throughout my hunting seasons."

Hanna says the men were in their late 20s to early 30s with Amish Dutch beards.

They were speaking Amish and wearing blue denim jackets, blue jeans, orange plastic vests, and orange hats.

Police say the men who robbed Hanna face charges of armed robbery and assault if they are found.

I would have used my 3 shells I keep in my pack for emergences only.I see that as justafible.they are lucky they didn't try that with me.

This is a very odd story.

Is Amish a language? I thought the Amish people spoke a variation of German.

too bad he didnt slip a handgun out as they were walking off,it would of been 3 amish funerals very soon..sorry but thats how it should be.
