I hunt public land and I keep orange on head to feet until I get to my truck. Even on private land it makes sense, you never know when someone might wander onto your property by accident and take a shot. There is no mistaking that bright orange at dusk even from a few hundred yards away. Better safe than sorry.

Once I was sitting on a hill watching a fence line. I was wearing a brown coat and had a white rag around my neck to keep the cold out. A couple of hunters that weren't supposed to be there walked out and looked for a long time at me, then left. Well, it got dark and when we drove out we talked to the other hunters and one said, "That rag around your neck looked just like a deer's tail". Blaze orange from now on.

No way my I am going in the woods during gun season without blaze orange hat and vest. I hunt private land for the most part but an accident can happen anywhere to anyone. It's just not worth the risk.

Yup... Blaze orange here too. I encourage EVERYONE to wear it. I mean, you can't be too careful out there! [&:]

The only time I am not in Blaze Orange is during bow season. When muzzleloader comes in (I don't own a muzzleloader - I still bowhunt) I don't wear it fully, but wear a blaze orange hat. Then when rifle season comes in, I wear a vest and hat.

my philosiphy is that if i can buy a vest for 5 bucks that will potentially stop a bad accident from happening then why not buy it?

depends if im in a enclosed blind,i meen i dont think that some ones going to shoot someone out of an enclosed blind. but in a tree stand i leave it on ALWAYS on state land because of all of them yahoos that give us hunters a bad name!!! I was out today on state land and me and my dad found signs with bird-shot blowen through it. i meen come onnnn grow up
people pay for that. So RESPECT STATE or PRIVATE land!
