Am I reading this correct in that you are in the process of hiring, or working with an attorney to see what recourse you have?
James no ... my friend who hunted with me IS an attorney and he is considering what recourse if any to take.

I had to make my trip to Alberta witout my rifle because when I arrived at the airport I could not find the key to my rifle case and they would not allow my rifle on the plane unless it was locked ...so I called Don (the outfitter) from Nashville before I flew out and told him ...he said he would have a rifle available for me when I arrived

Question,, did you fill out formJUS 715EFand have it approved before you left the U.S? If no,, what you did was illegal!

"The Application for a Non-Resident Temporary Borrowing Licence for Non-Restricted Firearms (Form JUS 715 EF) must be submitted and approved ahead of time by the Chief Firearms Officer of the province where you intend to borrow the firearm(s)."

I am glad most Canadians I have met do not have YOUR attitude ...We do not want anything back that we do not deserve unlike some.

You may have payed the $25 a person too registerYOUR guns at customs... But I highly doubt you Contacted the Chief Firearms Officer of Albertato geta NON-RESIDENT TEMPORARY BORROWING LICENCE!

Has NOTHING to do with Canada Customs,, it deals directly with the Chief Firearms officer ofAlberta, andCANADIAN FIREARMS CENTREin Miramachi NB. The fee is $30 for this licence.

Geez,,, a Canadian living in Canada,, and knowing the firearms regulations just won this rodeo!

click this link, scroll half way down! stop and read section on Firarms borrowed in Canada.

RE: I'm Back from Alberta

why jump on DD in reference to "checking" his gun(s) in anyway? that had nothing to do with the topic. he admitted to losing the key himself and was not blaming the outfitter or Canada for this.
