Default Remington Mod 700 .270 Cal?

Want to know whitetail hunting stories where the rifle used was a Rem mod 700 cal .270, good or bad. It is my rifle and caliber of choice and truly believe it is the best configuration ever!!

It's worked well for me. I bought mine in 1973 when I was 17. I'm getting kind of wimpy now in my old age and wish it didn't kick so hard.

I recently purchased a Savage .270 package. Hopefully there's good stories about the caliber hehe.

You'll hear no complaints from me....well over 30 taken with the ol 270 Model 700 ADL synthetic here. 130 Federal Power-Shoks were some bad medicine.

Maybe I'm just too amazed by the .50 cal ma deuce and barrett sniper rifle but it still seems like such a small bullet to take down a deer.

I'm such a n00b to rifles, though. I've always been a 12 gauge man.

isatarak get one of the Limb Saver recoil pads and put it on your rifle. It really tamed down my Rem.

I may just do that. I don't notice it at all when I'mhunting, but sighting in and target shooting is not pleasant.

Perhaps a Shooter's Freind recoil pad from cabelas. It is a slip on..but you wont even know you have shot that thing with it on there. Advertised 70% recoil reduction but I think that may be conservative. I shot a 7mag all day with it on there. If you really wanna not feel any recoil use the Sims and the Shooters Friend.
