First kill of the season
 

Well I'm excited because I killed my first deer of the season. I know for the last few weeks people have been posting pics of monsters and so I won't waste space by putting the pic of the deer I killed. It was a button buck. I thought it was a doe and I waited for awhile hoping a buck would come out, but nothing did and I needed the meat.

NEVER EVER be ashamed of an animal and dont come up with excuses why not to post a photo i for one wouldLOVE to see it!! its your first great memory as a hunter its a deer CONGRATS and i hope your hunting career is filled with more enjoyment!!:D

I shot him in the gut the first time and shot him in the chest to finish him. Those two holes is where the bullets came out. No those aren't my feet in the background.;)

should be good meat........and always be proud of what you shoot. It doesn't have to be a trophy to show it off.....I am proud of every deer I have ever shot. they are all trophies in some way or another.

I was watching Ted Nugent the other day, and he said that a deer is a deer, whether it's a doe, button buck, or big buck. It's all about thinning the herd. He was basically saying don't spend forever waiting for only a big buck if you have tags to fill.

And while my state discourages taking button bucks, it's still going to be mighty good on the table. Congrats!

Ya michigan discourages it too. but for the first deer it doesnt matter! i dont shoot them cause I just shoot a doe but its her first deer thats all that matters!
