What is the best state or providence for deer hunting.

Wisconsin
No 1 in Typical Deer Record
No 4 in Non Typical Record

Wisconsin ranks number one among states for single year harvest (618,275 in 2000) and also is number one among states for deer harvest over the past decade

I would say Iowa, Kansas, Illinois all are pretty equal.

Saskatchewan and Alberta are pretty much a dead heat forwhitetails. Both places have healthy populations, 300 lbs bucks on the hoof are common and continuely place deer in B&C.

Here in Tennessee, the deer grow pretty small, even though they have lots of food.

I would say big deer can easily be found in Mississsippi and Arkansas.
Kentucky is good too.

I thinik it doesn't matter what state you hunt in, every state has big deer. You just have to look for them.

The farther north you go, the bigger bodied the deer will be. It has to do with coping with the cooler climates. Even though the deer are bigger bodied, it doesn't neccesarily translate to larger headgear. As far as all around deer, with a look to record class bucks, Illinois is pretty hard to beat.

I'd say where-ever you get to hunt and be outside is the best. Every state brings something to the table. But I'll play along:

Season duration: SC - Aug 15-Jan1

#'s (bucks, with relationship to buck:doe) - TX

Size of Antlers - Big debate, somewhere in the corn belt - IA IL OH KS
