I'm no biologist but I would say he was 3.5yrs. Doesn't matter, thats a nice buck. Let him grow and you'll have a real nice buck.
PS I'd shoot him now and he would be my biggest[:-]

If you wait another year or two you risk someone else getting him. If the hunting pressure in the area is low then i'd be inclined to wait afew years. If not then i'd set up and take him down. As a 2.5yr old, he's already a nice buck but in afew years he would be a real trophy.

I live in the land of giants. One of the 4 arhery only counties in WV. No gun season at all, and you can only kill one buck a year in these counties.

Not much pressure on him, I'll take my chances and let him walk.

Well that would be my biggest buck to date, and if i didnt have much pressure on him i could possibly let him walk, but under current circumstances i would have to shoot him, to many other hunters around right now,

yes but there are always those A%&-hole hunters that will hunt with a gun and get lucky enough not to get caught!!

I was thinking it looked like a 3.5 by the way

Here is another pic of the buck, before he started Rut. His small body size, and still has a fawn type head leads me, and most who have seen both pics to say 2 1/2. He's just not a very big deer (Body size )

I'd say 3.5 ... but that's just me... They don't get that big at 2.5 around here.

dang great buck...i dont think id ever let a buck like that walk, even though i hunt around much bigger ones. too big for me to let walk, especially with neighbors hunting close by.
