Whitetail deer mating video
 

Howdy yall,
Well, I never thought I'd get this on film. I had never even seen deer mating, this was a first for me. This morning was rather foggy, and the deer seemed a little nervous when I went out about 7:30, but I stuck my camera in my pocket for some reason, lucky me.

what state are you hunting in? i havent seen much rut activity in MD yet

i also have to ask how in the heck do you get so close to the deer with the camera...and they are like 50yards from the house...WOW

I hunt in central Texas. The rut has just gotten in full swing I think, although I've seen does backs marked up the last couple weeks.

Boy that didn't last long. He spent more time cleaning up than actually mating. When he was all done it looked like he was looking for the TV or something to eat. Quite human-like.

Yes, he's quick. But he went after another just a couple minutes later! Couldn't catch the 2nd one. How often can they do this?

I have seen rams breed a ewe 3 or 4 times within a few minutes. When they do, it only takes a couple of seconds, though.

I'm just outside of Brownwood and there was little sign of full blown rut.
