LEASE QUESTIONS
 

HEY YALL,

IM CONSIDERING LEASING SOME ACREAGE IN PA OR NY.
I HEARD ITS AROUND $5AN ACRE, ARE THEIR USUALLY OTHER COSTS? HOW DOES IT WORK?
DO YOU JUST GET TO HUNT THE LAND OR CAN YOU SET A TRAILER ON IT, ECT.

ANY DETAILS WOULD BE HELPFUL

Most lessors will have a contract that sets forth the terms. More than likely you can expect to be required to carry some form of liability insurance to protect you and the landowner.
If the landowner has never leased to hunters before you will need to ask for rules. Be sure to address things like what is allowed such as leaving a trailer overnite or the whole season, building permanent stands, driving nails in trees, clearing "shooting lanes" , access to any ponds or streams on the property, having campfires, allowing guests, liability release forms for him and you etc.....
