wierd deer Noise???
 

i shot a deer tonight and watched him trot off to a spot in which he never came out.....5 mins later i hear what seems to be coughing, from the same place that deer went.....going to go get deer in AM.......do deer do this when expiring?????

im bettin it was tryin to breath or somethin and was gettin messed up in some way or another. i shot a doe last year and could here her makin funky noises. so it oughtta be where u where hearin those noises.

If you hit the lungs it could have been coughing up blood.

You could of shot a hole in the deer's windpipe making it breath different.

Under those conditions I would have waited about 30 minutes and retreived the deer. Dang coyotes will strip one out in a night around here.

this is what a coughing deer looks like!!!!! found him right where he was coughing this morning ...could someone give me an idea on score...19 1/2 outside spread and 10 inch g1s....9 1/2 inch g2s....about 6 inches short of touching in the front on the main beams

I don't know if I could leave one in the woods like that! LOL I'd be too nervous, not to mention I wouldn't get any sleep knowing it was out there. That's the smartest thing though, let em sit for a while so as not to spook 'em up again.

Nice rack! ...although I don't usually say that to men. ;)

According to John Trout, author of Finding Wounded Deer, it's common for lung shot deer tocough in their last few breaths as they suffocate on their own blood. I witnessed this on my first deer. I was only about 25 feet from him when he died so I heard everything he did in his last 2 minutes or so.

Congrats again on both a good shot and recovery.

ive shot several that made that noise ...meat in the freezer

I used te boone and Crockett websight to measure and it came up with 138 4/8 gross and 132 6/8 net....tis one is going on the wall....he dressed out at 215 lbs...BIG DEER!!!!
