Scents...Do they "expire"?
Can scents expire or become outdated? Should they be discarded after each season, or do they last longer (or basically forever)? I have a few that I've purchased over the past few years, but I don't know if they can still be used. Thanks in advance for the help!

RE: Scents...Do they "expire"?
If they are urine scents, they are likely to start having an ammonia smell to them after awhile. In this instance you definitely want new ones each year. If they are scents like pine, acorn, earth, and etc. it may not be as bad to save them from year to year.

Sellme69:
Selorian is correct- most urine based scents have preservatives added to deter the bacteria buildup, whick is natural. They will begin to breakdown and turn in ammonia. Scents without preservatives must be refrigerated to ensure that bacteria proliferation is held to a minimum, keeping the ammonia smell from overtaking the natural urine odor.
We use freshly collected deer scents, simply because we have had more consistent results with fresh urine than the others. There are numerous online sites by deer farms that collect bottle and sell freshly collected deer urine. We get ours from www.southernwhitetailscents.com.
