Sorry I can't help. Maybe a rifle and a six pack.

Make up your own. A personalized list is always best anyway.

Good God almighty! That list of stuff from Jesses page would require me to use a Utility Trailer. That's ALOT of gear!! :) Obviously it was meant to be customized and he was just being thorough. hehe.

Everything I take along can fit into a multi-pouched fanny pack. All of my gear fits into one rubbermaid container....Basically my clothes and the fanny pack. So all I have to remember in the morning is my bow case or shotgun and the rubbermaid container.

Experience is the best way to learn what you absolutely need to take and what you can do without. I think I've finally gotten to the point where I'm taking absolutely the bare essencials for me. I wanted to reach a point where all my gear would fit in just my pockets (really wanted to be just licence, tags, weapon and knife!) but as it turns out, the fanny pack isn't all that bad to haul and is pretty conveniently laid out.

I have another list, email me if interested. It is not as long as the previous one, but covers the basics.

Go as light as possible, here is a list of all you need:
1.Weapon
2.Ammo
3.License/tags
4.Knife
5.Only if your vehicle is at a great distance something to drag the deer out
6.If needed food and water
7.Flashlight if hunting the afternoon.

Anything else is something to leave in your truck.

Right on Taz, but don't forget the compass.

Yeah, I wondered about Jesse when I saw "laxative" on the list. I didn't even read the whole list either. But for a long trip this might be a good list to use, make sure you don't forget something. I know Jesse visits here too. Its a great site, seems to be a lot of people from CA and MO on it, where Jesse is from and where he is now.

Personally, I have 2 knives, a sharpener, a grunt tube and can call, licenses, binocs, a couple band aids, a pair of wool gloves, a cheap plastic ponco (why??), a disposable camera, and I think thats it. But I don't hunt that far from my truck on private land, and tomorrow I will also have a thermos and sandwhiches for an all day sit. I am not counting the clothes I wear in and the gun/ammo/bow/arrows/release stuff in that. When I was hunting upstate NY, I also had a compass and a couple other items.

I try to go lite when I hunt near the truck too. I was thinking the same thing, and am having Heather sew some cargo pockets into my bibs after season so I can be a bit more mobile. The fanny pack isn't bad at all though.
