It begins Monday morning!!!!
 

Finally the season is about to begin. Monday morning
I have a tonne of things to do to get ready
double check gun, bullets, battery in flashlight
deer calls, coat, gloves, hat, boots, knife, compass....
triple check alarm clock on Sunday (not that it will be needed)

get all the chores finished for the wife....so I am freed up on Monday!!!!

weather doesn't sound too good but oh well.

My rifle season has been open for me since Sept 17 in one area i hunt in and i still havent been able to drop a bloody animal[:@][:@][:@][:@]Hopefully you will have better luck then i did. Good Luck and dont forget to post some pics of that big buck your gonna shot;);););)

I wonder what the reasonwhy the opener is on a monday, not a Saturday.

That is odd.I live in Texas and every where and every season in the state starts on saturday.Good point deerman.

I am not sure to your answer but it may have something to do with the fact that we can't hunt on Sunday's here

One a side note. The first day was a huge success for me and my hunting partners IE wife and father
My wife and father both got nice 7 pointers (not huge racks but very healthy deer. The racks are almost identical and both weighted about the same. After skinning them on Monday afternoon we took them to the butcher and they weighted 110lbs 106lbs. so we have about 200lbs of meat already.
I usually butcher my own meat but its has been sooo warm here I thought it best to get the meat to a cooler

I seen alot of does and fawns the first day and a small spike or 4point but decided to pass as it was only the opening day.
