A 308 is a great all round weapon
for you it will get them even at 300 yards if ever need be.
a 25-06 a great vermit game at 50 to 150 yard your not useing it for its design. A 243 (My wifes weapon) great at 20 tof 120 yds 150 yds neck only shoots. I prefer a 7mm 50 to 400 he's down
The most important thing is whats comfortable it your hands.

Some people get 300 mags or 280just to namea couple.
shoot it a couple of times and are affaid of the recoil![&o]
when it comes time for the kill they pull the shot because there affaidof the kick!! Hope this helps good luck! Also pray about it. God never misses!:D

I'd say .308, it's an accurate cartrige, but you should get a 7mm-08, it's also as powerful as the .270 and it inheritsaccuracy from the .308.

any of the calibers you chose will do the job.. i hunt with a 325 wsm and its awsome.... a 30-30 will do what you want to do at 150 especially with the new lever- evolution ammo

I use a .300 Win Mag. Perhaps a bit of an overkill but it is what I prefer. I have taken deer with 30/30, 30/06, .50 Cal Muzzleloader and the .300 Win Mag.

Any of the cartridges mentioned except for the shotgun will do the job easily.

All of them will work. For me it's been a .243 for over 20 years. Made some 300 yd shots on some pretty good size deer, even hogs at that distance.
My 9 year old took his first deer, a spike last year with a 195 yd shot and drilled him to the ground with a high shoulder shot. Theres something about the .243, with no recoil people seem to shoot really good with it. Just put it where you want and squeeeeeze. Ive owned several makes in the .243 and they all shot at least an inch at a 100. I have had no luck with the .270, couldnt get 3 different guns to group well.
