RE: What rifle caliber do you use for your whitetail hunting?
Iused a Remington 700 in the .30-06 last year and it was quite effective. I hunted with several different calibers prior to that. I cut my teeth on a marlin lever action .44 mag. I've also used the 7mm magnum, .30-30, .270,6mm. By far my favorite cartridge for deer sized game is the .260 remington. Unfortunately, my wife threatened to leave me if i kept taking her rifle out.....so she bought me the .30-06.Marriage is all about making compromises!

I use 30'06 180g most hunts. I have used NAB 7mm Rem Mag but 30'06 is a reload for me a cheap.
Son # 1 uses 300 Savage - reload
Son # 2 uses 30'06 Sprg 150g - reload
Son # 3 uses 30-30 in a Model 94
Son # 4 will be using Son # 3's gun next yearas they all move upthe food chain.
