I am from NY and not affraid to admit my toes get damn cold once in a while.. Get youself some of those "toasty toes" things that stick to your socks. You can buy them by the case on ebay or you can get them in walmart if they carry them in your area. Having cold feet really stinks.

Don't wear cotton socks.

:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:DThe more they sweat, the more they stink, thats why they get cold!Rub them with Uncented Deoderant before you put on your Wool Socks andBoots. Cotton socks will make them sweat more.

toasty toes is the answer. you caneven go back to a lighter boot. One pair lasts the whole day.

That is what I was thinking Reb. I live and hunt KY and we aren't considered Yanks. I have been out in 13 degree weather. The answer to your question is wool socks and good boots. All else fails electric socks with heaters.

A pair of 1200 gram rubber boots and thermal socks is what I wear. Don't put on so many socks to make your foot too tight to your boot. You need to let the air circualate and not sweat. That takes me quite awhile into the hunting season. When it gets really raw (zeroish) I just throw some toasty toes down there.

ok, don't laugh. This is for real

When I was in the Marines we would go in the field and we walked everywhere we went, when we would get there our feet would get frezzing cold after a while. Of course we were all wearing cotton socks and were sweating and that was causing it. A crusty old veteran told me to get a pair of calf high panty hose and wear them when we go. It worked like a dream, plus no blisters. The hose wicks the moisture away from your foot, it works better when you don't wear cotton but, will work if you do. I buy new socks every year right before the season and I never leave the truck without my trusty hose. Give it a try, I may not live up north but it get's as cold as a well diggers butt here too.

In Wisconsin we have some of the coldest temps from day to day. it can be 90 one day and turn around and be 30 the next. Sunny and warm one minute and snowing and below freezing the next. My feet normally dont get cold untill about 5-10 deg F. InWi, we know how to dress warm and cool if needed.

20's HA Ha Ha Ha Ha. You crazy Rebs! I always wear a thin pair of moisture wicking socks, and then a thick pair of Marino Wool socks. That is the best combination I have found. And if then my feet are still alittle cold I will use those little stick on heat packs made for your feet. Just like the hot hands handwarmers. Except they have an adhesive side that will stick to the underside of your sock.

Sometimes there's nothing you can do about cold feet... Subzero weather will do that to you... I have a pair of 1200 gram thinsulate boots and I wear a liner sock w/ a nice thick wool "boot sock" over it. That usually does the trick for a few hours. Sometimes I'll slide in the hand warmers as well.

RE: Yankees dont laugh

If the combination of thin liner socks and wool socks fon't do the trick, these "overboots" might be your answer.

A good pair of helly hanson socks to wick moisture and 800-100gram insul. boots should have you covered!
I never have that problem and I'm from Ontario:D

Okay, I'm from Ontario, and don't use Fahrenheit as a temp, we use Celcuis. So converted is that about -6??? If so, I just buy some of those Kamik boots from Canadian Tire and some light wool work socks. When if get's colder, -25 (burrr) then I usually add another pair of heavier wool socks (Remingtons I think)

RE: Yankees dont laugh

Polypropylene liner socks are a wonder solution for cold feet. Put the on under your wool sock and have a good set of boots and you will be hard pressed (or sissy) to have cold feet. Also, spray deodorant (antiperspirant) helps a tremendous amount. I snowboard in temps sometimes below zero and my feet are never cold with this combo. Boarding boots are a little different then hunting boots but it is all the same when talking cold temps. I for one hate having cold feet and it will ruin a good day of hunting.

I'm w/KonaBoy.... -6 is nothing. -25 is COLD. I wear hiking boots to my stand w/no socks. My feet get cold but not really wet, when I get to my stand I take them off and put 2 pairs of socks on, then muckluk's rated to -40. My feet aren't the problem anymore.

Hey there - I'm upstate NY but originally from Canada.
You're feet will get cold doing nothing, it's a fact. BUT, you must wear wool. not even those thinsulate socks at $15 a pair compare. Cotton & sweat will do more damage at the end of the day if you can't re-warm dry.
2nd thing, those Sorrel skidoo boots are awesome, but not good walkers. Don't expect to hike in them, but they're the best for warmth.
3rd, those little heat packets are wicked.
4th, wiggle & flex those little piggies!

Even though I am a proud Yankee from the great state of Minnesota, you can feel cold in 70-80 degree weather. Try spending some time in Saudi Arabia, Kuwait or Iraq, with the day time high temps of 120's-130's and then have it dip severely down once the sun sets. Its all relative.
