Agree with GregH, age is the biggest factor in antler size, genetics and nutrition follow.

12 Guage slug gun.
Gun season opened Oct 14th in Eastern NC.

i don't think there is one thing out weighing another in the size of antlers....genes, age, and nutrition all play a good role........just because you have good genes doesn't mean you are going to have a large rack if there are no nutrients to make the antlers big....

The problem in northern nc is my idiot neighbors shoot every deer they see. ANDTHEN they fuss about never seeing any bucks over 6 pts.
