Calling it quits?
What time during the day should you call it quits during the rut?

RE: Calling it quits?
You only have a couple of weeks of good hard rut. Hunt from sun up to sundown. Six days if you can, it sure is a short time.
I'll come down and move to another stand sometimes just depends |
RE: Calling it quits?
The longer the better! If you can stick it out in a stand all day do it. Your results will be better. If there are deer in that area you will have a better chance to see them, by staying put and still longer you will not disturd anything like we do when coming back into the stand from the morning hunts. I don't do this all of the time but, I will get back into my stand before late after noon. If I get out of my stand and 10:30-11:00am, I am back in it by 1pm. This as worked out great in the past, as the other members are coming back into the woods at 3-4pm you will see the deer scattering some times, running or moving right by your stand, BANG! Good luck! KEEP HUNTING THE GREAT OUTDOORS & GOD ALIVE, PASS IT ON! |
RE: Calling it quits?
1/2hr after sundown, seriously, your not gonna shoot anything sitting in the camp. Deer season is too short to waste, can't you remember how it felt waiting that agonizing few weeks before it opened?
