I hate to sound like a dick, but I have a little story. I bow hunted a spot all of season (Starts October 1st) and was planning on sittiing there in shotgun season as well (which begins in the middle of November, in Indiana) I went back there the first day of shotgun season and somebody was sitting not 30 yards from my stand (and it was pretty clearly marked, I know they saw it). Well anyway, the bottom line is I made sure that if there were any deer within 500 yards, they knew to take a different route around that area. It is very frustrating and a good way to get yourself into trouble if you do it to the right person.

If that land was private or leased, then your recourse is through the club or land owner. If the land is public, (no matter how much tape, stands or other staking claim to a spot you do) then it is whoever gets there first hunts the spot. In Georgia your actions would have gotten you a citation from the game warden at a minimum.

I hunt National Forest land in Georgia and last Saturday I arrived at my favorite spot and was about to walk to my area when anothe fellow drove up to hunt. He asked which area I was going to hunt and then started to leave. I told him to wait, pulled out a map and we both came up with a workable solution for him to hunt one section and I the other. A much better outcome than seeking vengance by scaring all the deer away, just gets your blood pressure up and a hefty fine if the guy reports you.

Sorry Tyler, but I think your actions were childish and immature. You said you know he saw the stand. Well I don't know about you, but if I went hunting and saw someones stand next to mine, I would get out of there asap simply because I don't want to hunt next to anyone no more than he/she wants to hunt next to me. But driving deer away on your way out? Come on...grow up. I think you are lucky that person didn't come after you and beat you to a bloody pulp.

The Big question is, as has already been stated, is this private or public land. If its private, get his can booted. If it is public, you are lucky you didnt get shot.
