Feeding acorns (seriously)

Does anyone here feed acorns or heard of it, I mean gathering lots and lots of acrons and "keeping them" through the season, feeding them just like others feed corn and stuff.

Now, I don't hunt over feeders, but I'm not against it where I live, it seems most everyone lese does it but me. I literaly have thousands of white oak acorns on my yard. I can rake them in piles with a garden rake and could probably fill 2 50 gallon barrels full of them if I wanted.

The gears in my head got to turning and I wonder about feeding them into the later months, but what about keeping them fresh? Hmmm.

Am I crazy or what, lol:D

You could always try to extract the jucies out of them in a press or something and you would have a heck of a cover scent or an attractant.

I have collected them in a 5 gallon pale. Just raked them up. Withing 12 hours every single acorn was aten. The deer seemed to like it.

About every 4-5 yrs we have a bumper crop mast at my house.
It gets hazardous around here just walking around yard.

I get as many acorns into 4-5 construction grade bags as possible(without ripping).About 4 yrs ago I took 400lbs+ - out to farm I hunt and spread em out in key areas. It took about 2 weeks for deer to get on em hard.
It took about 3 weeks for 400lbs to go Pooof - Vanish.

Well - this yr is one of those bumper crop yrs.
I'm having an acorn rakin party startin this Sunday.

BTW - The more human scent you get on acorns be it handling, container, bag, or whatever the longer it may take deer to get on em.
